RYSA held a Board Meeting on August 10, 2020 to go over the details of our fall season. It is with a heavy heart that we had to cancel the upcoming Fall (2020) season. The Board vote was unanimous to cancel for Recreational Soccer. Many factors were taken into consideration:
The Kentucky Youth Soccer Association moved from Phase 4: Return To Play, back to Phase 3: Limited activities-reduced to training and no more than 10 players per coach.
We are already at the end of August with no Return To Play status updates from KYSA, our governing body.
Contact tracing for teams, and city obligations to make sure our park is safe for you and the players is tough to coordinate while ensuring your safety. We simply do not possess the resources to comply with all of the mandates and restrictions that have been placed upon us.
We are also looking out for our parents financially, because at any given time during the season, we could be shut down again at a moment’s notice. We wouldn’t be able to issue any refunds once the first game is played due to uniforms, insurance costs, along with any other overhead with starting a season. There are always start-up costs with each season.
Most importantly, we will err on the side of safety for you and your families. Nothing is more important than to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone involved.
We will take this time to work on our spring season and the new changes coming to our program with our partnership with Louisville City and Racing Soccer. Current and future RYSA coaches will still receive training with Louisville City this fall and winter. All coaches please send your information to our Director of Coaches Chris Green. Chris can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
We thank you for your time and patience as we all navigate the waters of uncertainty to reach our destination of Return To Play. We could not do this without each and everyone’s continued support of this community league.
